Description
I had just started to paint this beautiful Ukrainian friend of mine, when the war broke out. The painting changed, conveying a message all of a sudden. Hey people, what are we doing? Beautiful people on one side killing beautiful people on the other side, not even knowing them? For what? Because someone told them to? Really? Let's look each other in the eyes, with wonder and respect. The wars will stop instantaneously.
The portrait is painted with gold and oil paint, over layers of acrylics in blues, greens, pinks, reds, so many colors really, and spray paint. It is a real feast, a celebration of swirls and feathers, leaves, decorative lights and glitter, sprinkles and graffiti letters. The war has been going on for a while now. It took me some time to find the right letters, so that's why i only just finished it. If art has power, which i think it has, this painting will help stop the insanity.
